There are
four easy family walks (signposted by splashes of yellow
paint on the rocks) that enable you to appreciate the scenery
around Gruissan. (Remember to take some water in summer).
The duration of the walks varies between 1 hour and 4 hours
30 minutes.
1. The Chapel
of Les Auzils, less than an hour.
The chapel watches over the sailors and fishermen of
Gruissan from on high on the Clape plateau and provides
a magnificent viewpoint.
The itinerary is indicated from the Casino Le Phœbus. From the
car park at the foot of the Clape a steep path leads up to the Chapel.

2. Les
Goules, is a walk on the isle of Saint-Martin,
around the lakes Ayrolle and Campignol, 2 hours.
8 km.
The point of departure is the car park
near the Domaine de Bel Evêque. There
is a good viewpoint over the lakes (étangs)
from on top of the plateau.
3. La Capoulade,
a promenade through the pine forest and vineyards, 2 heures.
This
is an easy walk in the shade of the pines of the
Clape, near the Village, and offering a nice view
over old Gruissan. The fishermen's cabins of Villeuneuve
that you pass are a reminder of the origional activity
at Gruissan.
4. La Clape,
4h30 in the Mediterranean fauna and the flora.
You pass the Goutine, the Rec d'argent, the Auzils and the
superb viewpoints of the sea, Gruissan and the lakes. The scents
of the garrigue (thyme, rosemary, lavander...) accompany
you
along the route and several spring provide refreshment stops.
You can also walk
around lake Gruissan in an hour,
on a flat path for an easy exercise.You
will probably pass close to the
pink flamingos.
